The more we learn about the healing aspects of mindful movement practices, the more we see the multifaceted nature of their efficacy. When a positive effect is experienced–we can’t possibly reduce the cause down to one element—there are many mechanisms. While musculoskeletal wellness is often sought out through yoga, it can’t be separated from what is happening at a neural level. In this 3-day intensive, we will discuss the anatomy of the nervous system, the neural mechanisms correlated with movement and mindfulness, the vagus nerve and polyvagal theory, and the implications with yoga.
